Pedita Hall - PR and
Marketing Manager
Pedita Hall is a co-owner and the PR & Marketing
Manager for Inverted Downunder. She has a similar long love of aviation, and
recently retired from the RAAF where she worked for
11 years as a medical officer.
Pedita is a Melbourne native, but travelled
widely from an early age, kicking off her passion
for flying. See below for more details on her
flying
background, career and
role in the company.
Living in remote areas such as Gove, NT and
Guyana, South America necessitated travel in light
aircraft from an early age. She took up
skydiving whilst a medical student, as a cheaper
alternative to flying, learning to jump with round
parachutes on a static line before moving to
"squares". Highlights were the buzz of
freefall and a jump from a bi-plane, half way
through a negative loop! Pedita had a six
week elective with the
Royal Flying Doctor Service
in Derby WA, flying in King Airs around the
Kimberleys for clinics and retrievals. She has
flown in a wide variety of aircraft, believing
strongly in experiencing aviation to the full, so
that she can better serve her aviating patients.
These include the CT-4, Acrosport II bi-plane, RV-4,
F1 Rocket, Cherokees, Cessnas, Decathlon, P-3C,
C-130s, Twin Otters, F/A-18, F-16, F-15E, T-37,
PC-9, PC-7 and Blackhawks to name a few! She
started learning to fly whilst in the USA, but
has been spoiled by having her own "pilot", and
lists this as a "must do" in the future.
The Giles is the second aircraft she has owned, the
first being a neglected Cherokee 180C which she and
Matt restored to flying status.
Pedita joined the
RAAF
through the
undergraduate
scheme,
graduating from
Monash University, before commencing
her full time service as a RAAF doctor. She has had
postings to RAAF Edinburgh SA, Tindal NT,
Butterworth Malaysia, Richmond NSW, Hampton VA USA
and recently retired as the Commanding Officer of 2
Air Transportable Health Squadron at Williamtown
NSW. She is currently working part time as a GP in
Newcastle.
She earned her Flight Surgeon Wings at the USAF
Aerospace Medicine Primary Course, and spent three
years working on exchange at USAF's Air Combat
Command as the Chief, Flight Medicine Safety and
Human Performance. This was a highlight of her
career, working on issues such as the fatigue
management program, medical and human factor aspects
of mishap investigations, project manager for a new
in flight bladder relief capability, female aircrew
issues and aviation nutrition to name a few. She has
presented work from these areas at international
aviation medicine conferences. Whilst her main
love is aviation medicine, she is also a Fellow of
the Royal Australian College of General
Practitioners, and studying Sports
Medicine, with previous experience including as
member of the medical team for the Superbike and GP
World Championships at Phillip Island.
As co-owner of Inverted Downunder, Pedita takes
on a number of roles, including PR, marketing,
website development, safety and providing commentary
during Matt's exciting displays. She is your first
point of contact for
Inverted Downunder and the
services it can offer. |
